September 11, 2008 - This is an important day in our Nation's history--sad, heroic, scary, emotional. Whatever happened to you 7 years ago today, your life has forever been changed. Choice was taken away for a lot of people that day. It's changed the way we get to fly on airplanes and in many other ways. Things we took for granted -- the freedom and safety that we felt -- were transformed seven years ago by someone elses plans. Since then, the economy, the rate of unemployment, the higher cost of everything has made life more difficult for many. We do still have a choice--but only if we exercise it. I hope you make the choice that's right for you. I choose freedom.
BEING SUCCESSFUL IS A CHOICE YOU MAKE
You alone have the responsibility to shape your life. Once you understand this, nothing and no one can deny you success. There's no one to stop you but yourself.
More powerful than all the success slogans ever written is the realization that everyone has but one boss. That boss is you.
Your life will always be to a large extent what you make of it. No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but you.
Success or failure? It's always your choice.

At this point in my life, I value each moment. Every day is an adventure and I need to make the most of it. Too often, we are bombarded by "LIFE" issues - there isn't enough time to just breathe or think or daydream. We are so caught up in the hustle and busyness of life that we miss the beauty that God surrounds us with--it's everywhere. All we need to do is look. Take a minute...look up in the sky...see the beauty and magic of His wonders. How awesome it is to see the bright glowing orange ball in the sky just before sunset! Or look at the pastel-tinted clouds, shaped like angel's wings, set against the bright blue sky. These wonders are there for everyone to enjoy.
Because I am continually amazed at seeing these glorious skies with angel's wings, I decided to act upon that and my newest project is "Angel Wings Blessings Art." There will be a line of newborn announcements, sympathy cards, inspirational cards and special paintings that can be given as gifts or framed. Life is precious. Treasure every day and appreciate all those special people in your life...let them know it. I want to thank all the people close to me who have made a difference in my life and have helped me in some way...and there have been many. Thank you.
Not long ago, I stopped and asked myself if this is where I really wanted to be. Was I living the life I had dreamed about? The answer was "No!" If I wasn't living the life I had dreamed about, when would I? So, I evaluated where I was and decided to make some important changes. Even if I'm not living all of my dreams yet, I believe I'm headed in the right direction. More of my time is now spent in giving back, helping others, and being grateful--these are the traits I value. Living my life with integrity and these principles makes me a better person and maybe I can help someone else by being a good example to follow.
Can you ask yourself if you are where you want to be in life? If you aren't living the life you dreamed about, when will you? Revisit those dreams of your youth and see if maybe now is the time to make some changes. Information throughout this website may give you some assistance in finding YOUR PLACE.
Briefly, I now live in Georgia and I work at home teaching others how to have time freedom and to become financially free. I am not one to give up easily--and I have a strong desire to succeed (you can read more about that in My Story). I had been successful and I had made a difference, impacting many lives in the past. But, my life changed quite dramatically with a serious health issue. While recovering from two major surgeries, I had to find a new way to pay the bills. A friend introduced me to network marketing and that became a defining moment in my life.
Starting out with no real experience in network marketing, I made lots of mistakes on my journey to this point. I've also made some wonderful friends along the way. I like the freedom of being my own boss, setting my own schedule, avoiding the commute traffic, getting paid on my own services, and especially being able to travel across the Country working with some great Reps and helping many wonderful people. Network marketing with Escape International and Invisus Direct has given me the chance to realize some of my dreams.
This past couple of years has been a rollercoaster ride - learning who I am. I spent so many years as someone's wife and a mom to five kids that I forgot who I was. It has been sometimes painful peeling back the layers to see who is in this body. One day, I feel so excited about what I can accomplish, as me, and then another day it will seem so scary venturing out on my own. I've started writing two books and formed a greeting card line. Sometimes, I wish I had more hours in the day. I want to do so much, but I do realize I have limitations -- mostly from time and its ravages, because I'm not 20 years old any more. I am grateful for the talents and experiences I have been given. In spite of my age, I hope to have many more wonderful adventures!
As of June 2007, I still have the same philosophy and I look at life as an adventure. However, God had some other things in store for me while I was making my plans. After my routine physical exam, I was diagnosed with a racing heart condition and breast cancer all within the past couple of months. Has it stopped me...NO! Yes, it has slowed me down, but it's only a temporary inconvenience. I will be good as new if I can ever quit being deterred by the plagues--red ant bites, pneumonia, and poison ivy! If nothing else, my book will be a humorous one!! Enjoy looking around my website...it is chock full of bits and pieces of me, some great tips and ideas, and lots of pictures. Thanks for visiting!

Carol and I met several years ago thru a mutual business partner in one of the MLM companies we both worked with. It has been a delight to have Carol not only as a business partner in several different MLM's, but also as a friend. She has always been available to talk with about any aspect of the businesses we belong to. And, if she didn't know the answer, she would go out of her way to get the answers. She has always been encouraging when things are slow and life gets a little crazy. MY HERO by Katie
People have said that there are no modern heroes. I know this statement is not true, because I myself have a hero, my mom. She may not qualify as a hero in the conventional sense, but--in my eyes--she is a perfect candidate. She's brave, anyone who takes on the battle of rearing five kids has to be. My mom also has demonstrated her selflessness by always putting us, her children, first. Her big heart and ability to love also qualify her as a hero. My mom possesses all the qualities that I admire and would most like to have.
My mom is a very courageous lady in many respects. After having endured the pain of delivering her first child, she went on and had four more. Then she took on the tremendous task of rearing five kids. Her courage was not limited to her family, though. She battled a major oil company almost single-handedly in order to prevent them from jeopardizing the lives of hundreds of people. She not only won, but she did so modestly, displaying another sign of a hero.
My mom has always put my needs and my brothers' needs ahead of her own. She always made sure that we had everything we needed. However, she went a step further and gave us as much time, love, and attention as she possibly could. I remember all the hours she spent with each of us helping with homework or just listening to our problems. She spoiled us, not with material things, but instead with her time and devotion.
A big heart and plenty of love are just two of the qualities that my mom possesses. She has always displayed her love for us either by telling us or by showing us. Just recently, I was extremely upset about something, and she gave me a card. In the card, she wrote, "You will always be my sunshine," and her message went on to say how much she loves me. She has not only given us love, but she has also taught us how to love.
My mom is a hero. Now, she hasn't completed twelve impossible feats or tamed a volcano, but she has given my brothers and me the gift of love. She has proven to be courageous, unselfish, and loving and has instilled all these values in me. My mom is not only my hero, she is also MY SUNSHINE.
